The poem reads:
The Book Lover’s Week
On Mondays I am lost for ages
In the new bestseller’s pages
Tuesday night is all too fleeting
At my lively book group meeting
Wednesday, there may be some friction
Unless I read some Science Fiction
Thursdays, it just has to be
Short stories or biography
On Friday over lunch and dinner
I’m buried in a Booker winner
Saturdays are perfect days
For reading poetry and plays
And Sundays, how the hours dwindle
When I’m busy on my Kindle!

It’s feet up with some Carrot Cake
On Thursdays if I start to fizzle
I perk up with some Lemon Drizzle

On Fruitcake or Banana Bread

For a nice Victoria Sandwich

Thursdays means a day of mowing

Saturdays, day of adventure:
A trip to tip or garden centre
And Sundays (if the back’s not aching)
It’s getting rid of slugs and staking!

Thanks for forgiving,
(Just one of your gifts)
For the listening ear
The advice and the lifts
Your unquestioning love
Your caring devotion
The hugs and support
At times of commotion.
You told me the truth
Yet let me be me
And helped me to find
Who I wanted to be.
You shaped me and gave me
All that you had
Stayed by my side
In good times and bad.
So thank you for showing
What parents should be
With all of my love Mum
Forever - from me.

You’re a sturdy oak, a beam,
The staunch defender of our team.
You’re the lynchpin, axis, core
The lighthouse guiding us to shore,
The rock that’s there whatever weather,
And keeps the family together.
Thank you for the things you do -

Whether it's the bonus of good advice or the lifelong satisfaction friendship brings, everyone will recognise the special bond that the 'The Best Friend Advert' describes.
The text reads:
The Best Friend Advert
Seeking caring candidate who thrives on interaction
To undertake a special role with lifelong satisfaction.
Skills required for this post: loyalty and discretion
The ability to laugh a lot and listen to confession.
This role would suit a counsellor, a match maker or host
A wine or chocolate lover might perform well in this post.
Experience is valuable (but not as much as trust)
Willingness to socialise and empathise a must.
There may be opportunities for travelling and shopping
For gossiping and giggling and possibly for bopping.
The salary is judgement free, the bonus is advice
The hands on help is statutory, (the benefits are nice).
Though meetings may be limited by distance or by chores
No application necessary, the job’s already yours.

This brand new friend poem comes in the form of a job advert for the perfect pal. Skills, salary, hours, and bonus all described!
Our witty and joyful best friend print makes the perfect gift for birthdays, Christmas, bridesmaids and thank yous. It is also suitable as a group gift like a hen 'do'.
The poem is actually a 14 line sonnet. It was written by award-winning Bespoke Verse poet (and Oxford graduate!) Joanna Miller, whose framed poems have featured in magazines such as 'VOGUE' and 'Easy Living.'
