The poem is actually a 14 line sonnet. It was written by Bespoke Verse poet (and Oxford graduate!) Joanna Miller, whose wedding poems have featured in magazines such as 'Wedding Ideas' and 'Brides'. In 2013 she won the Wedding Industry Experts award for 'Best Wedding Writer.'

Seeking eager partner to establish winning team

A unique opportunity with proven pension scheme

The major skills required are: patience and affection

Not necessary for this role: a good sense of direction.

A diplomat would be preferred, as would a willing host,

A loyal and committed type could flourish in this post.The salary is kisses and the bonus is negotiable

The hours are extensive for the candidate who’s sociable.

Advantage will be given to applicants with passion

Who demonstrate affinity with sports events or fashion.

The live-in nature of this post is surely an attraction

Just one of many benefits which may bring satisfaction.

Please apply at altar steps, dress code: formal, new

And sign the lifetime contract with the simple words: I do.
