Statement by Jane Lampard
'I work in pastel or oil using subtle tones of paint to build up depth and atmosphere in my landscape paintings. I try to employ a sensitive approach, working directly from life whenever possible and drawing inspiration from the fleeting effects of the changes in the seasons, the weather and the light. There is so much that I want to record in the beauty of our landscape. I am particularly interested in the small farms which surround my home in south Gloucestershire, perhaps because I feel their traditional way of life is threatened. When working away from home I make frequent painting trips to Cornwall and also Tuscany and Venice where I have tutored small groups. For the past fifteen years I have had a yearly exhibition in my studio at home. My work has been exhibited with the Pastel Society, Royal West of England Academy, the Society of Women Artists as well as several leading provincial galleries. I am also a member of the Dobunni painters, a group of professional artists who paint in the Cotswolds'.

James' style is always vibrant, animated and energetic. His collectable animal portraits have received several notable awards.
James took a BA at Leicester Polytechnic in 1992 and has sinced exhibited his works, that have taken him all over the world, at several popular shows. He is a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and The Manchester Acadamy of Fine art.
James describes the way he paints as 'energetic, with getural, spontaneous marks and sweeping strokes'. The changing mood of his subjects always compliment his painting style.
His love for the sea is the main draw of inspiration for James and is a reason for his repeated visits to the coasts of Cornwall and the Scottish Outer Islands. His animal paintings have in particular become increasingly collectable.
Working on a large scale allows for a 'loose approach'. He works in pastel and watercolours but these often become mixed up. James likes paintings to be cheerful and he chooses subjects that he finds interesting and uplifting in one way or another.

Each card is cello wrapped with a white envelope.
